A new CBS show is in production in the NY area and will be holding an open casting call this weekend.
The new show stars “The Cosby Show’s” Phylicia Rashad and is directed by “Selma’s” Ava DuVernay. Central Casting New York is seeking paid extras of all ages (18+) and ethnicities. The event will take place this Saturday in Suffern, NY (Rockland County). The scenes will be filming at the end of the month and may be a multi-day booking with overnight shoots. Both union and non-union extras are welcome to apply.
Ava DuVernay will also executive produce the series along with Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, James Patterson, Bill Robinson and Leopoldo Gout.
Rashad has been cast in the lead role, joining her is Southland star Shawn Hatosy and Anika Noni Rose. “For Justice” is based on James Patterson’s novel “The Thomas Berryman Number.” The story follows a female FBI agent working in the Criminal Section of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division who finds herself caught between her radical real family and her professional family. Anika Noni Rose plays Special Agent Natalia “Nat” Chappel (Rose), a very focused and tough agent in the FBI’s Criminal Section of the Department of Civil Rights Division. She finds herself torn between 2 worlds, her radical, biological family and her professional one at work.
